VITRIGRAPH at C3  $50 PLUS $10 MATERIALS/LAB FEE
This 2-hour workshop is geared to those who just want to have some fun with glass.  Using a special kiln, learn how to manipulate hot glass to make your own glass components.  You will leave with multiple pieces that can be used with other 90 COE glass pieces.  Class is held as close to the full moon as possible (fun and spectacular results theory) and limited to 5 students so sign up early.  You will need to bring a large container to transport your Vitrigraph glass home.

PRIVATE GLASS KILNFORMING PARTY at C3

PROJECT OF THE MONTH:
ART FOR YOUR GARDEN  $65 
Join us for a fun time creating a personalized glass art garden stake.  No glass cutting experience necessary.  Your glass art piece will be kilnformed and ready for assembly the following week. This workshop is still in time to mark you garden with a piece of yourself and make your neighbors want one too.
 
AUG 7 12-4
CANE PULL at C3  $85 PLUS $10 MATERIALS/LAB FEE  
Take a pre-heated Pattern Bar, pick up with a punty of clear glass and place in a Glory Hole Kiln.  Heat until very soft, remove, pull, and twist to make your cane.  Use the resulting cane glass to make a one of a kind art piece in a "Lino Tagliapietra" style or use in your jewelry.  Make your own Pattern Bars and bring to class (call for specifications), or make yours in the Pattern Bars workshop, or purchase some pre-made Pattern Bars from C3.  Maximum 5 students.

STAINED GLASS FOR BEGINNERS at C3$105 plus $30 Materials Fee10-2 WITH OPTIONAL SESSION 2-6
DEBBIE THIGPEN, Instructor
Learn safety, pattern making, glass cutting, and glass selection, work with lead and copper foil assembly.  You will leave with a finished piece.
Maximum 8 students. * 50% DEPOSIT REQUIRED


AUG 21
HOT RODZ at C3 Studio
$105 PLUS $20 Materials Fee. 11am 3p
Using a canister of MAPP gas and a HOTHEAD torch, learn to make your own stringers, drop dots, twisties, droplets, ribbons, cased stringers, and more.  Use these components in your glass kilnforming projects with 90 COE glass or just place in a vase to enjoy.  These components also make great one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces by adding to your base glass.  No experience necessary.

PROJECT OF THE MONTH:
ART FOR YOUR GARDEN $65
Paula Chambers, Instructor. Join us for a fun afternoon creating a personalized glass art garden stake.  No glass cutting experience necessary.  Your glass art piece will be kilnformed and ready for pickup the following weekend.  Instructions and demonstrations are provided for the glass insertion into the decorative wrought iron stake.  All supplies are included in the materials and lab fee.  This workshop is just in time for Summer to mark you garden with a piece of yourself and make your neighbors want one too.

Enameling with Debbie Thigpen at C3 Studio$105 PLUS $30 Materials Fee
DEBBIE THIGPEN, Instructor.A one-day workshop includes preparation of metals, tools, equipment, application, and design, firing, and finishing.  Techniques covered; How to test colors, Simple Dusting, Scraffito, and more.  You will leave with the knowledge of what types of enamel to use and how to use them.  You should leave with a finished piece of enamel jewelry.  Maximum 8 students.

 

DEBBIE THIGPEN
Debbie Thigpen is an Instructor and currently an enamel apprentice with Peggy Ratcliff.  Peggy has been an enamel artist for over 50 years and even made her own large production kiln!  At 87, Peggy still is producing custom work every day in her studio with Debbie’s assistance.  We convinced Debbie to share her knowledge with us.  As all of the basic techniques of using enamels transfer over to glass, that’s our next workshop.  Debbie, an accomplished artist in her own right, is also very talented with Stained Glass and will be teaching a Basic Stained Glass workshop at C3 Studios.  DEBBIE THIGPEN, Instructor.A one-day workshop includes preparation of metals, tools, equipment, application, and design, firing, and finishing.  Techniques covered; How to test colors, Simple Dusting, Scraffito, and more.  You will leave with the knowledge of what types of enamel to use and how to use them.  You should leave with a finished piece of enamel jewelry.  Maximum 8 students.
